About Eyebrow Transplants
What is an eyebrow transplant?
Eyebrow transplant surgery gives you the eyebrows you want — whether it’s a bold brow or an understated look. It works by removing follicles from other areas of the body — usually the side of the head — and inserting them along your thinning browline.
Eyebrow restoration is usually performed using the FUE hair transplant technique, although the FUT strip method is not uncommon. The results are natural and subtle, giving you confidence in your look without makeup or microblading.
How does an eyebrow transplant work?
The first step is to numb the area around your brows with anaesthetic, so your experience will be mostly painless. Sedatives are also available if you feel tense or worried before the procedure.
Your surgeon uses a tiny needle to extract hair follicles out of the donor area (usually an inconspicuous spot behind your ear). These follicles are then positioned in small incisions along the browline, following your existing eyebrow hair. When the hairs start to grow, they’ll be indistinguishable from your natural eyebrows.
Why have an eyebrow transplant?
- Get longer-lasting and more natural results than with any other eyebrow restoration treatment
- Advanced FUE techniques leave minimal scarring
- Your brows will have natural new growth in just 6 months
- You can go home the same day as the surgery
- We have a 97-100% eyebrow transplant success rate

Eyebrow Transplant FAQs
Eyebrow transplants are a great option for anyone with eyebrow hair loss due to overplucking, scarring or skin trauma, trichotillomania (an anxiety-related condition in which you pull out your eyebrow hairs), and other health conditions.
Eyebrow transplants rely on removing active hair follicles from elsewhere on the body, so if you’ve lost a substantial amount of scalp or body hair, you may not be able to have an eyebrow transplant.
Eyebrow transplants work for both men and women as well as for those transitioning genders.
Thanks to the anaesthetic and sedative, eyebrow transplants are usually relatively painless. The most you’ll feel is some mild discomfort throughout the surgery. You can take painkillers to manage any ongoing soreness.
Your new brow shape will be visible as soon as your surgery is complete. After around 4-8 weeks, your new hair will start to grow through, and you’ll see your final results 6 months to a year after the procedure.
Yes. Eyebrow transplants will last forever, so they’re a more permanent option than microblading or eyebrow tattooing, both of which fade over time.
Yes! When your eyebrows have had enough time to grow and settle in, you can shape them however you like.
While it’s safe to shape your new brows, avoid overplucking them to prevent permanent eyebrow hair loss.
How Much Does An Eyebrow Transplant Cost?
Eyebrow transplants are available from £3,499 at the Wimpole Clinic. Find more information in our eyebrow transplant price list.
Your graft quote will inform the cost of your eyebrow transplant. Your surgeon’s ability and reputation can also play a part — so transplant cost often reflects the quality you can expect from the clinic. Learn more about UK eyebrow cost in our hair transplant cost analysis.

The whole process at Wimpole Clinic was fantastic and the results speak for themselves. I am so pleased with my experience that I joined the clinic to help many more men and women transform their eyebrows and to restore their confidence just as I did.
Marie’s Experience On The Day
“I always had very few eyebrow hairs and it was something I really wanted to address. The whole process at Wimpole was fantastic. Moley was very informative and she helped me with designing my eyebrows so that I would get the look I wanted. I really felt like a VIP.
Needless to say, I am very pleased with the outcome and the team and I would highly recommend them to anybody looking for an eyebrow transplant. The team have been excellent following up after my procedure and answering any of my questions.”

The Eyebrow Transplant Procedure
Eyebrow transplants are a straightforward procedure that don’t require an overnight hospital stay or general anaesthetic. Each eyebrow needs 250-400 hairs to achieve a full, natural look. Learn how the eyebrow transplant procedure works in our FAQs.
Eyebrow Procedure FAQs
Yes, to an extent — your consultant and surgeon will ask you about your desired results, then help you design a natural-looking browline that suits you.
Eyebrow transplant surgery takes just a few hours, and you’ll be able to go home the same day. The exact timeframe depends on your graft count, but most patients are in surgery for around 4 hours.
Eyebrow transplant recovery is similar to FUE recovery. But the transplanted area is usually smaller, so recovery can be quicker if there are no complications. You can normally resume your standard routine within 4-6 days. Find out more about hair transplant recovery.
Yes. Aim to take a couple of days off work (as a minimum) to allow your transplant to heal. After this, you’re free to return to work when you feel well enough. Learn more about returning to work after an eyebrow transplant.
Yes. Because your donor hair comes from your head, it can grow longer than the rest of your eyebrow hair. You’ll need to trim or clip your new eyebrows every few weeks to stop them growing too long.
One of our registered surgeons will carry out your eyebrow transplant procedure, assisted by an experienced hair transplant technician.
You can expect a few mild side effects after your eyebrow transplant, including swelling, soreness, and itchiness. Anti-swelling medication and painkillers will help reduce these, but they’ll usually clear up within a few days anyway.

R R's Eyebrow Transplant Review
After searching high and low for a solution to rectify my 90s over-plucked eyebrows (I had previously tried micro blading, semi-permanent and pencilling), I realised nothing was coming close to the real deal of lost hair that I had previously got tweezer happy with.
I then came across The Brow Lift on Instagram. I approached them and Marie was friendly, informative and really passionate about brows. I had my consultation with Marie and Dr Luciano and booked in straightaway for the eyebrow restoration. I am only 1 week post op but from what I have experienced so far – this is a dream team that is passionate about what they do – Dr Luciano and Marie both sat with me and explained everything clearly before the procedure, Marie literally held my hand through the tougher parts of the procedure and has been on the phone every step of the way post op – I have never experienced after care like this.
I’m thrilled with my fab new brows so far and although it’s still early days, I have faith that following the advice of Marie and Dr Luciano I will finally get my dream brows. Thank you both!

Noemi's Transplant Review
Treatment at the Wimpole clinic with Marie, Dr Sciacca and their team was excellent. The whole experience with them was superb, with a very high level of professionalism. Expertise and knowledge was first class. A week after having a video call with Marie I travelled over 130 miles for my appointment as I felt reassured by her by answering my questions. I can’t really comment on the progress of my eyebrow transplant yet as it’s still early days but so far I am very happy. I highly recommend Marie and Dr Sciacca.

Eyebrow Transplant Risks And Side Effects
Like all cosmetic surgeries, eyebrow transplant patients can expect to see certain side effects. In the first few days post-procedure, it’s common to see bleeding and weeping in the donor and recipient sites, as well as swelling, pain, itchiness, and scabbing.
A very small number of patients may also experience complications, such as eyebrow transplant infection. Any unexpected symptoms — including fever, worsening pain, and wounds that aren’t healing — should be discussed with your clinic.
There’s also a small risk that your stitches may reopen after FUT surgery, so it’s important to check for unexpected bleeding in the donor area.
Is FUE Or FUT Best For Your Brows?
Both FUE and FUT are effective surgical techniques for eyebrow restoration, though FUE is normally the preferred method. That’s because eyebrow transplants don’t normally need a significant number of grafts, and FUE can achieve great results without leaving visible scarring. FUE involves extracting grafts one by one using a micropunch.
In FUT, a strip of skin is removed from the donor area and dissected into individual grafts. The wound is stitched up after the skin is removed, leaving a thin scar. FUT tends to be used for harvesting large graft volumes. It may also be recommended for patients with Afro-textured hair, as FUT is less likely to damage the grafts during extraction.

FUT and FUE for eyebrows are the most effective techniques for restoring permanent eyebrow hair loss, but certain adjunctive therapies may help boost results.
Medical therapy
Proven medical therapies such as minoxidil can encourage eyebrow regrowth, either on their own or alongside surgery.
Eyebrow Transplant Results Timeline
Understand the journey from eyebrow transplant recovery to results in this week-by-week timeline.
It’s important to follow a strict aftercare routine the first week after an eyebrow transplant.
Week two is all about encouraging your scabs to fall off safely, so your grafts anchor into the scalp.
Any pain should have subsided by now, and most patients can resume their normal routine.
Your grafts should have fully healed by week five, paving the way for your brow revival.
Your new brows will start to take shape around this time.
Full eyebrow transplant results are normally visible from 12 months onwards.
